Two ventures, one conviction: a cooperative food delivery network owned by local merchants, and an AI platform you own and keep.

Mission Statement

Our platform establishes ecosystems served and owned by locals. It creates a digital marketplace in which merchants and users are directly connected, liberating them from the high commission fees of third party operators.

Generation One makes the thriving, independent trading model of the past accessible to the communities of the future, delivering higher profits and lower prices for everyone.

Our Ventures

Two products built on the same idea: ownership belongs with the people who do the work.

Local: the restaurant-owned food delivery app
Local

Fair food delivery, owned by the restaurants and couriers that run it. Today’s apps take up to 40% of every order; Local charges what it costs and leaves the customers, the data and the profit with the merchant. In invite-only beta in Malta.

Player One

An AI team you build now, and keep for the future. The first fully visual agentic harness: a staff of agents, memory and routines running on a computer you own, with any AI provider you choose. A product of Generation One, live at 1p.dev.

About Player One

Our Vision

Picture a bustling, medieval marketplace where independent merchants interact directly with passing customers from their stalls. With no big-tech middlemen or commission fees to pay,
the money remains in the immediate community, allowing merchants to retain their profits and customers to enjoy fair prices.

Now take that marketplace and put it in an app; an app that promotes a fair, prosperous economic model with the interests of the local community at heart. We’re starting with the food delivery industry, but this model can be rolled out across almost any vertical. That’s the bit where we change the world.

The world we’re building

Most of the digital economy runs on one trade: you use the platform, and the platform owns the relationship. Generation One builds the other kind. We make shared tools that local communities own and run themselves, so the businesses and workers who rely on a marketplace are also the ones who control it.

Coordination, not control

We build and maintain the software and look after the Local name. We don’t run local networks, set their prices or decide who delivers what. That belongs to their members.

If you can’t fork it, it’s not yours

Members keep their customers, their data and their order history. A business can leave and take everything with it, and a co-operative that loses the Local name keeps its technology and its customers.

Built for the street

Food delivery is where we start, because it shows the problem most clearly. The same model of ownership can work for almost any local trade.

“Distributed ownership is stable. Coordination is a service. The moment coordination becomes ownership, extraction begins.”

How Local works

For a customer, Local looks like any other delivery app. Underneath, it is owned by the people doing the work. Local is in an invite-only beta in Malta.

  1. 1
    You order

Find nearby restaurants, order, pay by card or wallet and follow your delivery, or collect it yourself. It feels like any delivery app.

  2. 2
    The restaurant receives it directly

The order goes to the restaurant’s own system and appears on its Kitchen Operator tablet. No distant marketplace sits in the middle taking a cut.

  3. 3
    A local driver delivers

The drivers’ co-operative quotes the delivery, assigns a driver and sets its own prices. The driver follows the job in Local Navigator.

  4. 4
    The money stays local

The restaurant keeps its revenue, less one inclusive commission that covers the co-op, card processing and the Local brand. Drivers are paid through their own co-op.

Who owns what

The merchants’ co-operative

Every restaurant on Local is a member and co-owner of its regional co-op: one member, one vote, open books, and a say in fees and how things are run. Each sets its own menu, prices, hours and delivery radius.

The drivers’ co-operative

Drivers own a separate delivery co-op. It organises delivery, sets delivery prices and answers to its members, not to a platform somewhere else.

Generation One

We build the tools, look after the Local name and help new co-operatives get going. We are paid a small flat brand fee, not a percentage of anyone’s orders.

Where the money goes

Fees that are written down, small, and set by the people who pay them. Members see the books and vote on fees, so anyone can tell the cost of running the network from a margin.

9.63%

The most a restaurant pays on an order, excluding VAT. It covers the co-op, card processing and our brand fee, and the aim is to bring it down.

3.69%

The charge on a delivery fee that funds the drivers’ co-operative. The delivery prices themselves are set by the drivers.

€0

Joining, setup or monthly subscription fees for a restaurant.

40%

What the big delivery apps can take from a restaurant today, at most.

The technology

Software that runs close to the business that uses it, with the data staying where it belongs. Some of this is in use today; some is where we are heading, and we label which is which.

TodayKitchen Operator

The tablet app in the kitchen. Orders arrive, staff work through them, and couriers and customers stay in sync.

TodayMerchant Operator

The restaurant’s own dashboard in the browser: menus, prices, settings, orders and analytics.

TodayLocal Navigator

The driver’s app, from claiming a job to handing over the order, synced live with the kitchen.

TodayThe merchant hub and FogBox

The restaurant’s backend runs on a FogBox, a small Linux service unit, so orders reach the business directly instead of a central mega-server. New merchants start on a shared box hosted by their co-op.

TodayFold

Our open-source, self-hostable memory for AI agents, MIT-licensed and on GitHub. Knowledge stays portable and under its owner’s control.

TodayPlayer One and Sidekick

Our AI platform: a business’s own team of agents with lasting memory, on its own instance and with its choice of AI. Sidekick connects them, with permission, to the browser and desktop.

Where we’re heading

NextA box of your own

A restaurant’s own FogBox on its premises, instead of a share of the co-op’s.

NextNeighbourhood Rescue

Nearby systems covering for each other when one goes down, with encrypted backups spread across the network.

NextOpen source, after audit

Releasing the Local platform’s code openly once it has been independently audited.

NextAI that works for its owner

Personal and business AI running close to the people it serves: ordering for a customer, helping a merchant with pricing and stock.
